ATLANTA (From news reports) -- The U.K. Competition and Markets Authority said that it won't refer Graphic Packaging Holding Co.'s planned acquisition of AR Packaging Group AB for a further review.
The regulator started its investigation into the deal in August to see if it would lead to a "substantial lessening of competition" within the U.K.
It said that based on currently available information the CMA won't refer the deal for a Phase 2 investigation under the Enterprise Act 2002.
Graphic Packaging said in May that it would buy AR Packaging from private-equity firm CVC Capital Partners for $1.45 billion in cash.
