Saving Energy--Water

I’m not sure your idea would work, but we did one that did:
We operated 7 hydro dams. There is a big nuke just south of Beloit which hated cutting back (I never did figure out why). So, especially during the air conditioning season, we would run the hydro heavily from noon to about  6 P.M., then throttle back. Then, from midnight to about 5 AM, we would basically shut down the river and buy power at about 1 cent a kilowatt (about 1/5 the regular price) from the nuke. That would refill up the ponds.
