Kathy and I are fixen to see our daughter Nicole graduate from Vet school. It’s been a long road for her and an expensive one for sure, as you who’ve read my drivel here know. We’re excited for her and for her new job in Nashville beginning in late June. I thought her student loan was heavy until I read that the average vet student loan debt exceeds $140,000. Nicole’s two older brothers were able to get through college without any loans because they went to state universities (let’s hear it for land grant schools). Many aren’t that fortunate.
At any rate, we’re going to be 5 blocks from the Lincoln Center in NYC, where the graduation is taking place. Thanks to friends we’ve got a hotel for a reasonable rate for the one night we’ll be in the city. Then off to NJ for the after graduation party at our son & daughter-in-law Mike and Donna’s place. So if you are in the north east on or about June 8, you may want to avoid NJ. I hear they have a new hot tub. And we play musical instruments loudly & throw food.
If you have a graduation in your family, congratulations. Have fun celebrating the success.
Drive safely this summer. Remember the most dangerous thing most of us do is drive on two lane country roads.
