In my column last week, we asked "Well, does senior management cause safety issues?"
A majority, 57.1 percent, answered "Sometimes," 28.6 percent said "Rarely," and 14.3 percent answered "Always." No one answered "Often" or "Never."
Then, we asked, "If you answered (at any level) that senior management does cause safety issues, what do you think is the reason?"
A whopping 86.7 percent answered "Do not understand the complexities of the task at hand," 28.6 percent said "Cost," and 14.3 percent said "Schedule." No one replied, "Not concerned about employee's welfare," which is probably a good thing.
