FINLAND (News release) -- Metsä Wood has begun statutory labor negotiations at Suolahti and Punkaharju birch plywood mills in Finland. Negotiations concern the adaption of birch plywood production to the current market situation.
The negotiations include a plan to have layoffs at Punkaharju mill for a maximum of 75 days and at Suolahti mill for the time being. The needed layoffs are planned to take place during 2019.
Metsä Wood provides competitive and environmentally friendly wood products for construction, industrial customers and distributor partners. Metsä Wood is part of Metsä Group.
