ACTOM Product Offerings

Power Conversion

ACTOM is a leading supplier of premium specification as well as standard low voltage motors, gearboxes, speed reducers and motor starters.

It has a long standing capability for custom-designing and manufacturing medium voltage motors up to 18MW for mining, industrial, processing and utilities markets. It has supplied motors for the bulk of Eskom’s power stations over the years.

We manufacture and supply electric motors in Southern Africa and and export our products to several countries globally.

Additionally, we also manufacture laminated components and tooling for the electric motor manufacturing and repair industries.

Electrical Equipment

ACTOM Electrical Products, is a leading stockist and supplier of competitively priced quality electrical equipment through our extensive Southern and Sub-Saharan African distribution network.

Repairs and Services

ACTOM's electro-mechanical maintenance, service and repairs businesses include the maintenance and servicing of machinery and equipment for the mining, rail transportation, utilities, marine, and oil and gas industries.

We specialise in motors and generators for excavators, off-highway vehicles, locomotives, drilling and pumping applications, and are a specialist repairer of DC motors and generators, Including rebuilds, rewinds and commutator manufacture, as well as the manufacturing of high-, medium-, low-voltage, flameproof transformers, generators, alternators and ancillary power generation equipment.

Transmission and Distribution

ACTOM supplies a full range of solutions, OEM equipment, maintenance, repair and refurbishment services for the transmission and distribution industry. We are fully capable of undertaking turnkey projects.

We specialise in high voltage circuit breakers, instrument transformers, surge arresters, insulators, isolators and isolated phase busbars, switchgears, current transformers (CTs), voltage transformers (VTs) and dry-type control power auxiliary transformers (CPATs).

Smart Technologies

ACTOM uses loT devices and artificial intelligence to provide tailor-made solutions to our customers through visibility in the process. We incorporate smart intelligence so that the equipment enables an increase in productivity and factory efficiency and a reduction in downtime and wastage. We also provide the digitisation of factories, equipment and design programs etc. Offerings include applications in protection and control and in static power.

Engineering Projects and Contracts

ACTOM are experts in modern power electronic drive, control and switchgear technology, and provide turnkey solutions for specialised industrial rotating drive and power applications.

Our substation construction business is ACTOM's system: integrator, providing turnkey solutions to the electrical infrastructure sector specialising in substation construction and renew electrical balance of plant installations.

ACTOM designs, manufactures, installs and maintains railway signaling equipment and turnkey systems, and are a contractor and supplier of railway rolling stock equipment, parts, maintenance services and specialised depot assembly machinery and test equipment.
