This will be the third annual conference of the Light Green Machine Institute. Papers are being sought on concepts and developments that demonstrably indicate alignment with the Institute's goal of reducing the weight of installed paper machines, within each grade by 50% by the year 2025. Suppliers and mills are encouraged to submit papers.
Schedule
- Abstracts should be submitted no later than 30 September 2011.
- Notification of accepted abstracts will be by 19 October 2011.
- Final Papers/Powerpoint presentations are to be submitted by 1 December 2010.
- Powerpoint guidelines will be provided with notification of acceptance.

Some potential topic themes from our Light Green Machine Institute Weekly Idea Discussion in 2011 are given below as suggestions (you can look at them in detail here). As always, we are totally open to new ideas/themes for exploration, particularly with alternatives to stock preparation, ect., via chemistry.
- Are we building too many buildings?
- Faster vs. wider papermachines
- Maintenance – removal of dead equipment and cabling (cost vs. savings)
- Alternative fasteners (magnets, steel velcro, ect.)
- Annular concrete columns
- Concrete (e.g., precast) vs. Steel
